The purpose of this page is to provide future CCSS students with resources and information to help you make decisions about your future, and to keep you informed about activities designed for you both now, and in your grade 9 year! Orientation Events for Students entering Gr. 9 in September 2011
We will be visiting Grade 8 classes during mid-May to hand out registration packages for camp. Please register by returning your permission forms to your grade 8 teacher ASAP so we can finalize our reservation with the camp!
September 1, 2011 Orientation BBQ
* 10 am - 1 pm
* welcome by principal and student leaders
* meet your homeroom teacher and classmates and senior
mentor students
* get your timetable, find your classes & locker
* purchase your picture package ($90* gets you a photo pkg,
yearbook, student card and agenda, a $120 value)
* last chance to register for camp ($100*)
September 8 - 9 /11 Grade 9 Coyote Retreat!
* meet the class of '15! make new friends
* get to know admin, staff and mentors
* challenge yourself on the ropes courses &
other events
* set personal, class & school
goals
In case you need to borrow some gear,
here's a list of what you will need to bring:
* sleeping bag & pillow
* towel, toilettries and necessary medications
* flashlight
* outdoor gear for RAIN or SHINE & sunscreen
* clothing & footwear appropriate for outdoor activities
that you don't mind getting dirty
* water bottle (no fountains but all water safe to drink) and snacks
* instruments welcome for campfire
* NO nuts or valuables; cell phones etc. not recommended;
no TV/internet access
* Cash or cheque. Please make cheques payable to Clarington Central SS. Bursaries are available to cover the cost. Please speak to Ms. Newton.
