SAFE SCHOOLS
a) TOBACCO POLICY:
It is a violation under the Tobacco Control Act to smoke on school property. It is also an offence to supply students under the age of 19 with tobacco products. All tobacco infractions will be reported to the Durham Region Health Dept. A Provincial Offences Act Ticket for smoking/holding lighted tobacco on school property carries a substantial fine ($305.00). A Provincial Offences Act ticket for selling/supplying tobacco to a person who is less than 19 years of age carries a $365.00 fine. This law is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a week.
Students are not permitted to smoke between classes or during their study period
b) DRUGS AND ALCOHOL:
Any student in possession of, under the influence of, or distributing any alcohol or drug substance will be subject to appropriate police action, suspension, and/or expulsion from Clarington Central Secondary School.
