SCHOOL DANCES
Dances are held approximately 3 times each semester on Thursdays (7:30 - 11:00 pm)
STUDENT RULES FOR DANCES
- A student on suspension the day of a dance will not be permitted to attend.
- No smoking is permitted at dances.
- Coats must be left in designated area at your own risk.
- All lockers are out of bounds, including lockers in the dance area.
- Students are strongly discouraged from bringing valuables to the dance.
- The school will not be responsible for student property that is lost or missing.
- Once leaving the dance you may not re-enter.
- Students will not be admitted into the dance after 9:00 p.m. If it is necessary for a student to arrive after 9:00 p.m. (work commitment), his/her ticket must be signed by an administrator by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the dance.
- Anyone suspected of intoxication before entering the dance will not be admitted and a phone call will be made to their parent/guardian to take them home.
- Any student who is found to have been drinking alcohol prior to or during the dance will be suspended from school; will not be allowed to attend further school dances for one calendar year; parents/guardians will be contacted; charges may be laid at the discretion of Durham Regional Police.
- Student I.D. Cards must be presented in order to gain admission to the dance.
- A guest must come in with his/her sponsor.
- Guests must be registered on the guest list no later than noon of the day of the dance to receive a guest pass.
- The guest must show identification at the door.
- Sponsors are responsible for the behaviour of their guests
- A sponsor may only bring one guest to a dance.
