COMMUNICATING AND REPORTING ACHIEVEMENT:
Clarington Central Secondary teachers are committed to providing ongoing feedback to students and parents/guardians regarding progress in the subject areas studied. Students are expected to maintain a record of achievement in each class to personally track their success. If a student has any questions about his/her progress, proper communication protocol should be adhered to by speaking to the teacher about the assessment first.
Communication of student progress to parents will include a variety of the following: teacher web page; telephone/written contact; an anecdotal, mid-term and final report card each semester; an opportunity for interviews with teachers on Parent’s Night each semester; and the issuing of credit endangerment letters to students at risk in each semester. Parents are also welcome to contact subject teachers regarding student progress. As well, students have the opportunity to review and discuss final assessments on designated days at the end of each semester.
